REST Web Services and the RPG Programmer
Web Services have been an important component to modernization. IBM has provided a Web Services engine for a number of years now. But this engine has been SOAP based. This session will look briefly at the business value that RDi brings to the table, and then dive into the long list of updates that were delivered just recently with the 9.5.1 version of RDi. The RDi team has been very busy over the past few months and have included over 20 new enhancements to help simplify the life of the RPG and COBOL programmers.
Tim Rowe is the Business Architect for Application Development and Systems Management. He has been working on the IBM i platform his entire career in many different areas. He started on the core operating system, moved to middle ware, before taking over responsibility for making sure the IBM i platform has the necessary support, technology, methodologies, and tools to insure the IBM i will be a modern platform both today and well into the future. He also spends part of his time talking to customers around the world about what is Modernization on IBM i and how to move in that direction.
